Multi-Stage Aqueous Pre-Treatment Systems

The first and most critical step in achieving the high quality finish demanded by today’s end user is the pre-treatment of the substrate surface. The great majority of today’s industrial coatings require the substrate to be free of any process oils, dirt / sediments and other contaminants prior to the application of paint. The proper cleaning of the parts sets the standard for the rest of the operations involved in the finishing system itself.

T & S Enterprises’ multi-stage pre-treatment systems are designed to be the most maintenance friendly, energy efficient and capital friendly machines available on the market today. Our patented “Clear Choice Stanchion Design” allows fallen parts to be removed from the machine without any operators entering the housing system, allow for spray nozzles to be cleaned / replaced from the exterior of the housing and keeps the heat inside of the tank thus greatly reducing the operating costs of the machines. The heated stages tanks are designed to keep the floor clear for easy cleaning and prevent sludge and cake build up on the heat transfer tubes.

Traditional Multi-stage systems include:

  1. Iron phosphate and zinc phosphate in-line spray pre-treatment systems (as approved by each customers chemical supplier)
  2. Iron phosphate and zinc phosphate in-line dip pre-treatment systems
  3. Batch spray and dip systems
  4. Stainless steel construction materials are used for tanks and housing systems to ensure a long lasting pre-treatment machine (mild steel and polypropylene pre-treatment construction materials are also available)
  5. PVC, CPVC, Stainless steel and Polypropylene piping materials are used

Materials to be used in all of our Pre-Treatment systems are as follows:

  1. A Stainless Steel System would utilize stainless steel for the construction of the tanks, housings, pumps (fitted or wetted), firing tubes, etc.
  2. A Mild Steel System would be the same as above but in mild steel. However we will do everything we can to allow you to use Stainless Steel in the construction in order to be able to appreciate the corrosion resistance and longevity of the equipment.
  3. PVC, CPVC, Stainless steel and Polypropylene piping materials are used on the interior and exterior of each unit built by T&S.

Our patented Clear Choice Stanchion Washer Multi-stage systems include:

  1. Iron phosphate and zinc phosphate in-line spray pre-treatment systems (as approved by each customers chemical supplier)
  2. Iron phosphate and zinc phosphate in-line dip pre-treatment systems
  3. Batch spray and dip systems

Oven Systems

Cure Oven

Simply put, finishing system ovens serve one of three predominant purposes; they are used to either pre-heat parts (to have the parts reach a determined temperature for subsequent processing requirements), dry parts (to prepare the parts for coating applications) or to cure parts (to ensure the applied coatings are properly cross-linked with the parts). T&S designs every system oven to meet each customer’s production requirements with maximum efficiency. Whether your goal is to pre-heat parts, cure parts or to dry parts for paint application preparation, T&S will work with your company to ensure its requirements are exceeded.

Infrared and convection ovens

  1. Pre-heat, drying and curing ovens for both conveyance and batch systems
  2. Electric and gas infrared oven systems
  3. Forced air convection oven systems
  4. Floor mounted and elevated ovens are available (to save on your facility footprint requirements)
  5. Designed for wet and powder paint applications
  6. Consistent Temperatures
  7. Fuel efficient applications that lead to reduced curing cycle times

The Big Green Machine

The Big Green Machine Single Stage Pre-Treatment Systems (Patent Pending)

No matter what the physical size of your equipment is THE BIG GREEN MACHINE is a force to be reckoned with! Not because of the size of the equipment, but because of how much it can do to improve your company’s environmental profile and operating bottom line!

In September, 2008 T & S installed the largest conveyorized single stage washer in the world. The duel line equipment is 85' long, 14' wide at the tanks and 12'tall. Our customer claims some of their benefits are:

1.         Total elimination water usage in the cleaning process for a savings of 3000 gallons daily.

2.         Eliminated the use of natural gas by 103,955 MCF/yr

3.         Reduced the amount of electricity used in the process by 132,165 KWH

4.         Eliminated 64,000 gallons of contaminated water from waste stream and the associated      disposal cost.

5.         Eliminated internal chemical treatment of overflow water. The three stage system required the company to discharge all three stages once a quarter and teat waste water overflow. The new process doesn't not require discharging the tank or on-sight water treatment.

6.         Reduced the amount of hours for maintenance, downtime and process line gaps by 4,000 hours annually. The new process eliminates line gaps and is virtually maintenance free.

7.         Reduced CO2 emissions by 916 tons annually.

8.         Improved quality of product for corrosion, adhesion and impact resistance of the decorative powder coat applied. All testing performed by existing powder supplier.

T & S Enterprises has designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned more single stage pre-treatment systems than all other North American manufacturing companies combined (including the largest single stage system ever manufactured globally).

This single stage process application equipment is able to be utilized in a variety of methods:

  1. in-line spray application systems
  2. batch spray application systems
  3. in-line dip tank systems
  4. batch sip tank systems
